Where Is Natural Wood Veneer Used?

Wood veneer applications are preferred in many production areas where decorative appearance and surface quality are important. Especially in projects where the natural feel of real wood is required, wood veneer offers a stronger visual value compared to foil lamination.

The material used in natural wood veneer applications should be selected according to the final product’s application area, surface expectations, veneer thickness and glue system.

How Is Natural Wood Veneer Applied?

The surface to be veneered is first prepared to be clean, smooth and suitable for production. The appropriate glue system is applied to the surface or to the veneer material. The natural wood veneer is then carefully positioned on the surface.

The product is placed on the working table of the vacuum press. When the silicone membrane system is activated, the membrane applies balanced pressure to the veneer surface. With vacuum support, the veneer sits evenly on the surface and the glue works more consistently across the entire area.

Correct pressing time, suitable glue selection, proper workshop conditions and material preparation are important for achieving high-quality results in natural wood veneer pressing. For this reason, the process should be determined according to the product type, surface dimensions and veneer type.

Suitable MakserTeam Machines

For natural wood veneer applications, MakserTeam WP Series models can be used with the addition of a silicone membrane. When selecting the right model, not only the number of working tables but also product height, mould usage, production capacity and available workshop space should be considered.

WP1 Vacuum Membrane Press

The WP1 model offers an advantage in working height thanks to its single-table structure and up-and-down moving heating turbine. This feature provides an important advantage especially for high mould applications, thicker parts or special production processes that may also include wood bending.

WP2 Vacuum Membrane Press

The WP2 model helps save time in the production flow thanks to its two working tables. With the addition of a silicone membrane, it can be used for natural wood veneer applications. However, it does not offer the extra working height advantage provided by the up-and-down moving turbine structure of the WP1 model.

WP4 Vacuum Membrane Press

The WP4 model provides production flexibility with its three working tables and smaller middle table structure. With silicone membrane use, it can be evaluated for natural wood veneer applications. It offers a practical production flow for workshops working with different product sizes. However, for high moulds and thicker part applications, the working height advantage of the WP1 model should also be considered.

Heat Shape Master

Heat Shape Master is a multi-purpose model suitable not only for natural wood veneer pressing, but also for special applications such as wood bending and acrylic / solid surface forming. Its lower oven structure should be positioned especially for acrylic and solid surface applications. For natural wood veneer pressing and wood bending, it provides advantages with its silicone membrane frame system.

Important Technical Note

Since acrylic and solid surface forming applications require a separate heating / oven process, this application should be positioned especially with the Heat Shape Master model. WP1, WP2 and WP4 models can be used with the addition of a silicone membrane for natural wood veneer pressing and wood bending applications. However, for acrylic forming, the main solution should be explained as Heat Shape Master.
