PVC and PET Foil Lamination
Furniture, Door and Decorative Surface PVC and PET Foil Lamination with Vacuum Membrane Press
PVC and PET Foil Lamination is one of the most common vacuum membrane press applications used for covering MDF, HDF, raw MDF and wood-based surfaces with decorative foil. This method provides high surface quality in the production of kitchen cabinet doors, interior room doors, bedroom wardrobes, TV units, bathroom furniture and decorative panels.
With vacuum membrane press technology, PVC or PET foil is applied to the surface with controlled heat and vacuum support. This allows manufacturers to achieve aesthetic, durable and clean lamination results on flat surfaces, CNC-machined patterned cabinet doors, grooved door panels and three-dimensional furniture parts.
MakserTeam vacuum membrane press machines offer single-table, double-table and three-table solutions for PVC and PET foil lamination applications. The most suitable model can be selected by considering production capacity, product dimensions, foil type and available workshop space.
Where Is PVC and PET Foil Lamination Used?
PVC and PET foil lamination has a wide range of applications in furniture and door production. It is a practical solution especially for manufacturers that require aesthetic appearance, surface durability and efficient serial production.
Common application areas include:
- Kitchen cabinet doors
- Interior room doors
- Bedroom wardrobes
- TV units
- Bathroom cabinets
- Cloakroom and hallway cabinet doors
- Hospital cabinets
- Laboratory furniture
- Hotel furniture
- Store decoration
- Coffee tables and decorative furniture parts
- CNC-machined MDF doors
- Decorative door and furniture panels
While PVC foil lamination offers a more common and economical solution, PET foil lamination can be preferred for modern surface expectations, glossy finishes, matte surface quality or applications that require a more durable coating.
Suitable Materials for PVC and PET Foil Lamination
PVC and PET foil lamination can be applied to different wood-based surfaces and decorative furniture components depending on the product type and production requirements.
Commonly used materials include:
- PVC foil
- PET foil
- MDF
- HDF
- Raw MDF
- Wood-based panels
- Door panels
- Furniture doors
- CNC-machined decorative surfaces
- Kitchen cabinet doors
- Interior door surfaces
- Decorative surface foils
Material selection should be determined according to the application area of the final product, surface expectations, colour and pattern preferences, durability requirements and production capacity.

Suitable MakserTeam Models for PVC and PET Foil Lamination
WP1 Vacuum Membrane Press
The WP1 model is suitable for compact production areas with its single working table structure. It is a practical solution for small and medium-sized manufacturers. Thanks to the up-and-down movement of the heating turbine, it can also provide a higher working area advantage in some special applications.
WP2 Vacuum Membrane Press
The WP2 model offers a more efficient production flow with its two working tables. While one table is in the pressing process, the other table can be prepared for the next products. This helps save time in daily production.
WP4 Vacuum Membrane Press
The WP4 model provides flexible production with its three working tables and smaller middle table structure. It can be especially useful for manufacturers working with different product sizes and looking for more efficient foil usage.
Heat Shape Master
Heat Shape Master can also be evaluated for PVC/PET foil lamination in some production setups. However, this model is mainly positioned for special applications such as acrylic and solid surface forming, wood bending and custom forming processes, especially thanks to its lower oven structure.
How Is PVC and PET Foil Lamination Applied?
In PVC and PET foil lamination, the MDF, HDF or wood-based surface to be laminated is first prepared for production. The products are placed on the working table, and the foil is positioned properly over the parts.
The heating system of the machine softens the foil and makes it suitable for lamination. The vacuum system is then activated and allows the foil to sit fully on the surface. During this process, the foil is pulled towards the edges, grooves and CNC-machined pattern details of the product.
With the correct temperature, proper vacuum performance and suitable process time, a clean, smooth and professional lamination result is achieved on the surface.
Important Technical Note
A silicone membrane is not mandatory for standard PVC and PET foil lamination applications. Silicone membrane support is mainly used for natural wood veneer pressing, wood bending and special forming applications.
By adding a silicone membrane to WP1, WP2 and WP4 models, applications such as natural wood veneer pressing and wood bending can be carried out. However, for wood bending applications with high moulds, the WP1 model may offer an advantage thanks to its up-and-down moving heating turbine and higher working area.
For acrylic and solid surface forming, a separate heating process is required. Therefore, this application should be positioned with the Heat Shape Master model.
Difference Between PVC Foil Lamination and PET Foil Lamination
PVC foil lamination is an economical and widely used surface covering method in the furniture and door industry. It offers manufacturers broad design flexibility with many different colour, pattern and texture options.
PET foil lamination can be preferred especially in modern furniture production and in projects where a glossier, more refined or more durable surface is required. Depending on the foil quality, PET foils may offer advantages in terms of scratch resistance, surface gloss and aesthetic appearance.
In both applications, the right machine, correct temperature control, proper vacuum performance and suitable foil selection are important for achieving high-quality lamination results.
Who Is This Application Suitable For?
PVC and PET foil lamination is suitable for manufacturers that produce furniture, interior doors and decorative surface components with MDF, HDF and wood-based panels.
It is especially suitable for:
- Kitchen cabinet door manufacturers
- Interior room door manufacturers
- Furniture manufacturers
- Bathroom cabinet manufacturers
- Hotel and project furniture manufacturers
- Store decoration companies
- CNC cabinet door manufacturers
- Workshops processing MDF / HDF panels
- Furniture factories with serial production
Why Is the Right Vacuum Membrane Press Selection Important?
In foil lamination applications, the correct machine selection depends not only on the machine model, but also on the product dimensions, daily production quantity, foil type and available working space of the manufacturer.
A company producing long interior doors may not need the same working table size as a workshop producing small kitchen cabinet doors. In the same way, double-table or three-table systems may be more efficient for companies working in serial production.
